Weight load capacity of our products

Please see below eight load capacity of panels without inserts FB and panels with aluminium inserts FB1.

All weight loading tests are made placing weights at the end of the shelf brackets.

  100mm 150mm 200mm 250mm 300mm 350mm 400/450mm
(Timber shelf brackets) (Heavy duty shelf brackets)
FB 11.5Kg 6Kg 4.75Kg 3.5Kg 3Kg - -
FB/I - - - - 12.5Kg 10Kg -

For wood shelves over 900mm in length, we advise to use three shelf supports p Hanging rail MF 2.39 1000mm: Weight load capacity tested: 15 - 20 kg
Note: the wieght load is intended with weight distributed in uniform way on the lenght of the rail.
With weight load on the front part only of the rail, the weight capacity goes down to 10-12 kg and the rail can bend downwards.
We suggest therefore to use the product together with the side support MF 2.43 (usable only with slot centres 100mm and 200mm)

Weight load capacities on our shelf brackets 100mm to 350mm where made with our product code MF 2.12 – MF 2.15. For shelves from 400mm to 450mm testing was made with our products MF 2.46 and MF 2.47.

The weight load tests where made with weights placed on the extreme end of the shlef racket. If the weight is well distributed on the racket, the weight load capacity will increase.

The breakage point of the panel is when the MDF starts to separate. This can happen much before external signs of breakage are visible.

Panels with aluminium profiles have higher weight load capacity and capacity can be increased by screwing profile directly to panel.

The safety weight load is calculated as percentage between maximum weight load and sustained maximum weight load.

We are still doing weight load tests on shorter shelf brackets as they break bifore the panel starti to break.

The above information is supplied only weight load indications and not a guarantee on the performance of the panels.

The following information is a guide that we hope useful for installing the panels.

Spacewall panels are made in wood so can increase or reduce if subject to humidity.

Stock panels in flat position, in a dry place, and leave in shop at least 48 hours before installation.

The wall in which you install the panels has to be dry. Use wooden battens to separate panels from wall and avoid infiltration of humidity.

Use wooden battens 25mmx50mm for easier installation and fix first the bottom part of the panel for easy alignment of the panels.

Installation

  • Fix vertical battens every 600mm.
  • For heavy weight load, use more battens and make sure junction of panels is made on the centre of the wooden battens.
  • Plan the installation bifore cutting panels. Planificar el montaje antes de instalar los paneles.
  • When installing panels start from one end of the wall and continue in progression from one wall to the other.
  • Before fixing the panels to the wall, localize and do holes for electric sockets.

COLORI

Cutting

Please cut panels and make marks for cutting on the rear part to avoid damages to the surface of the panels.

Spacewall panels can be cut with normal wood working tools and saws. To cut panels with aluminium inserted use blade for metal.

Installation

When panels are placed one on top of other, install first bottom panel and make sure it is levelled correctly.

Place screws both horizontally and vertically approximately every 600mm depending on weight load. Use screws for wood with flat head to allow insertion of aluminium profiles above them.

Hanging Battens

Spacewall offers split hanging battens (MF 2.62) in alluminium and wood to fix the panel sto the wall without drilling the surface.

Check well alignment of panels when using the battens.

USe 3 pairs of MF 2.62 for each panel.

Frequent Questions

1) What are the standard size of your panels?
Please check our website sectin for slatwall panels.

2) What is the weight load capacity of our panels?
See above weight load testings for weight load capacity.

3) Can you have CLASS 1 panels fire resistano with EC certification?
Yes, Class1 panels are available with EC certification. Please ask for quote and minimum quantities of order.

4) What is the maximum amount of panels that can be placet on a pallett?
Up to a maximum 40 panels of size 1200x2400mm.

5) Why do we have to pay transport costs?
Spacewall uses national couriers to deliver it’s goods and therefore hasto to pay this service. Tarriffs are based on the final weight of the delivery.

6) For painted panels why is a sample required?
Colours may change depending on supplire of paint, that is why with a sample we can look for the most similar color.

7) Is their difference in weight load capacity between L and T aluminium profiles?
No, because the critical point for both profiles is the top part of the profile (where the lip of the accessori is inserted) that is the same for both type of panels.

8) Why do 3 meter panels have to be two parts in height?
Measures over 300mm can’t be routered as they do not fit on the machines.

9) Can you router both sides of the panels?
Yes, you can router but on one side the slot centres are 50mm behind because the panel does not have sufficient thickness to allow for slot centres in the same position on both sides.
